An opportunity has risen to work at the Cardigan Centre for the role of Finance Officer to lead and drive our staff team and supporting our trustees in managing our finances. You must have a good sound knowledge and managing finances effectively and a proven track record.
The Centre is staffed by full time, sessional posts and volunteers that support our 3 key areas of work. Education and Training, Community and Youth and Facilities Letting. Our work focuses on inspiring and empowering the community and the people it represents to make informed decisions in improving their ambitions and aspirations
Your role will be to:
- Make the center thrive as a financially stable charity
- Effectively manage our budgets making key recommendations
- Support our hardworking staff team in ensuring strong financial ethics
- Work with the general manager and trustees in developing a strong vision for the future of the Centre
The Finance Officer will be responsible for assisting with the production of budgeting and forecasting reports, monthly reports and accounts. They will provide key business and management expertise to the organisation’s budget holders, working closely with the General Manager to support the day-to-day running of our budgets, as well as developing systems to drive efficiency. The Finance Officer is the primary finance contact to support the departmental managers and relevant trustees on all financial matters.
The successful candidate will be a strong finance all-rounder with a pro-active, solution-focused and external-facing approach. They will have experience in financial and management accounting processes and a recognised accounting qualification. They will also have experience of working with non-financial colleagues to improve their understanding of finance, as well as of using computerised accounting software Xero.
